Workshops - Each Module starts with a workshop. These include lectures from experienced faculty and/or guest speakers, supported by learning activities.

Learning Set - You will become a member of a learning set of a select number of veterinary surgeons who are also working on the Certificate of Advanced Veterinary Practice. The Set meetings normally follow a workshop and they are designed to help the student consolidate the work covered in the workshop and help vets support each other in dealing with professional and learning challenges. They also enable the advisor to help the group prepare their submissions for assessment. The meetings normally last about 4 hours. Learning Sets are organised geographically to make them as convenient as possible for candidates.

Advisor/assessor feedback - You will be assigned a dedicated advisor who will both facilitate your Learning Set and also be available to you on-line through the Learning Net and will be able to provide feedback on your submissions and generally advise you on getting the best from your studies. Each learning group also has a trained Veterinary Surgeon assessor who is available to give feedback on draft submissions allowing you to have confidence that your are progressing in your programme.

Manuals - Each module comes with a full manual/workbook which will take you step-by-step through the process of developing your submission.

On-line Learning Environment - You will have access to an on-line learning environment (the Learning Net) which you can log into at any time. Within this environment you will be able to access your manuals, library resources and interact with other students and get feedback and advice.
